Public Relations (PR) Specialist

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Public Relations Specialist  to join the biggest property group in Australasia - the Ray White Group.  With 1000 office around its multi-national network, the 115-year-old Ray White Group has so far sold over $40 billion in property in 2016-17.  Ray White Commercial’s network has over 50 owner-led businesses and a team of more than 250 commercial real estate agents who handle more than $2.5 billion of sales and leasing transactions every year. Based in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, and reporting to the Head of Agency Operations - Commercial, we are looking for an experienced PR Specialist with experience in media  who knows how to create a news story to provide support and copy to the Ray White Commercial members. Supported by our in-house Research & Data teams we are looking for someone to deliver timely and accurate commercial news packages to our media partners across Australia and New Zealand.

We’re seeking an experienced Media and PR specialist, who understands about delivering content to deadline. You must be confident and capable of pitching news stories to the media, plus hungry to hunt down news stories from within our network.

The position will see you responsible for Ray White Commercial’s media and public reputation in Australia and supporting New Zealand, putting in place strategy for data-based news packages. You will be expected to coordinate maximum positive exposure, plus provide corporate media support for our network. Ideally, you will be a public relations specialist with current media contacts and prepared to build your own relationships with key national and real estate media. We want you to propel our company onto the front pages for all the right reasons. You will also need to enthusiastically support social media, digital content and community engagement functions.

You will possess:

  • Excellent technical copy-writing skills with the ability to prepare reader friendly, concise and accurate business communications including feature articles, media releases and social media copy.
  • Experience as a real estate / finance or business journalist highly regarded.
  • Excellent self-management, initiative and people skills essential.
  • Some domestic travel is expected in the role
  • Experience in the commercial real estate industry or trade media would be helpful.

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Develop relationships with key property journalists nationally
  • Write media releases, internal communications plus thought-leadership copy
  • Identify news leads  to create media opportunities for key personnel and the brand at large
  • Execute media activities in relation to brand milestones, key listings, new offices and key recruits
  • Educate franchisees on how to conduct a media campaign
  • Identify, create and coordinate media opportunities for franchisor and network to build brand presence
  • Work closely with our in-house Research specialists
